Design collaborations

Matti Klenell was born in Sweden in 1972. After earning his MFA in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design from Konstfack in Stockholm, he established his own multidisciplinary studio in 2000, with his projects ranging from industrial furniture and lighting to spatial design and art installations. Deeply rooted in the Scandinavian design tradition, his practice combines functional clarity with material sensitivity, frequently exploring the expressive qualities of glass. He has collaborated with leading international brands such as FontanaArte, Offecct, Swedese, Källemo, Marimekko, Iittala, and Kosta Boda, while also directing major spatial initiatives like the redesign of Stockholm’s Nationalmuseum. His studio focuses on creating timeless, characterful solutions that bridge craftsmanship and mass production, earning numerous prestigious accolades and placements in major museum collections worldwide.
